Game Of Thrones Season 3 Cast and Show

ABOUT THE SHOW

"Based on the bestselling fantasy book series by George R.R. Martin, Game of Thrones is an epic story of treachery and nobility set on the continent of Westeros, where summers and winters can last years, and only the lust for power is eternal. ...

"As Blackwater Bay cools [after the end of http://gameofthrones4.blogspot.com/Season 2], the victors consolidate their power and rebuild King's Landing. But new challengers for the Iron Throne rise from the most unexpected places. Characters old and new must navigate the demands of family, honor, ambition, love and – above all – survival, as the Westeros civil war rages into autumn. ...

As season three begins, the Lannisters hold absolute dominion over King's Landing after repelling Stannis Baratheon's forces. Yet Robb Stark, King in the North, still controls much of the South as well, and has yet to lose a battle. In the Far North, Mance Rayder has united the wildlings into the largest army Westeros has ever seen. Only the Night's Watch stands between him and the Seven Kingdoms, but nobody knows what happened to its Lord Commander and the force he led beyond the Wall. Across the Narrow Sea, Daenerys Targaryen – reunited with her three growing dragons – ventures into Slaver's Bay in search of ships to take her home and allies to conquer it."

Snow on the North Shore and the Debt Ceiling

Hello readers,

I woke up to snow this morning and was really surprised to see it since it has been soooooo warm on the North Shore lately. Since I do not get to dress up for my job as a swim instructor, so sometimes I show up for work dressed to the nines because I enjoy it. This week I will be wearing the outfit below for a Child Abuse Prevention meeting in Haverhill. I tend to always be warm, so it would have to be very chilly for me to wear an actual coat. I love Patagonia's Los Lobos vest that I got for my birthday due that fact that one can dress it up (cords and oxfords) and down (over-sized long sleeve tee and leggings) for winter.

Snow on the North Shore

Over the past couple of months, I have been loosely following the Fiscal Cliff debates in D.C. I have been disappointed with both the Republicans and Democrats over their tactics in coming to a solution to this economic problem. The person I am most disappointed with is President Obama. We get it. You won the 2012 Presidential election, but you don't have to act like a bully to the Republicans to push through your economic policies in this Fiscal Cliff debate. Republicans in Congress know Americans will blame them if this issue is not resolved properly, but the Democrats (under Presidential leadership) don't understand how to stop ridiculous government sending.

The tune of President Obama's song regarding raising the debt ceiling has changed for the last seven years. In 2006, Senator Obama stated that "Increasing America's debt weakens us domestically and internationally....Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren." In January 2013, Obama's tune changed to raising the debt ceiling and that he will not pay the GOP a "ransom" to raise it. While I agree that the United States not paying its bills to be "irresponsible", calling out Republicans is not necessary to the solution to the Fiscal Cliff. While many are proclaiming Obama to be a strong leader because of these statements, I do not believe him or Congress (regardless of political party) to be at this moment. Leaders solve problems without "calling out" their dissenters or laying blame. Remember, everyone elected official D.C. represents the American people. We can easily not re-elect them.

Words of advice for D.C.:

SOLVE THE PROBLEM!! STOP LAYING IMAGINARY BLAME!!

BUSY BUSY BUSY!!

I am so sorry everyone!! I have been busy as a bee lately and I had another bout of the common cold. Since I last posted, New Year's Eve and my 24th Birthday have passed. As I was sick and busy with work, I didn't get to tell my resolutions!!

1. Get back into reading: I love to read, but for the last year, I have been in the biggest funk when it comes to reading. I hate finishing books because I hate the feeling of abandoning the characters at the end of a novel or biography and starting on to a new book too soon.

2. Start exercising in new ways: I have been spinning for years...I mean YEARS. So I decided to join the Masters Swim team at my YMCA. I really want to get into swimming more because its such a great way to work out. Another goal is also try a vegan diet for a week.

3. Explore more: When. I was living at home in Louisville, I didn't explore my surroundings and enjoy the natural wonders of Kentucky as much as I wanted because I was too obsessed with working. (I used to be a pretty bad workaholic.) Now that I am in New England and everyone skis, hikes, and camps on the weekends, I want to take in as much of the area as I can.

Last Sunday, I had my 24th Birthday. The day before, my friend Bridget came up from Boston to visit me for my birthday!! We went to see Les Miserables, which I highly recommend. I started off my day with a pedicure and manicure. (I usually don't do those things as I am so crazy about nail salons being ridiculously clean, but the nail salon I go to has the highest standard of cleanliness that I have ever seen.) I got wear my favorite sandals that haven't worn since September to get my toe nails done in OPI's Lucky Lucky Lavender.

My husband surprised me with three dresses from the Lilly sale, a Patagonia Los Lobos vest, and another pair of L.L. Bean boots. I really needed the Patagonia vest. Massachusetts gets very cold along the coast due to the wind, but I am always usually burning up when I wear coats, so a vest is perfect.

Allura dress in Spring Fever Toile, Alicia dress in Passion Pink Petal Pusher Lace,  Alexi dress in Resort White Oh Buoy, and Patagonia Los Lobos vest in Nickel
We took the train into downtown Boston eat dinner at Anthony's Pier Four, which had the honor of serving their amazing Lobster bisque at three Presidential Inaugurations. I had the swordfish. We will probably go again, but to the restaurant in Swampscott, which is closer to where we live.

Other than NYE and my birthday, I have been busy as bee working, but in other exciting news, I have a new eye doctor who has forced me to buy a new pair of glasses. I choose the Ray-Ban New Wayfarers in Tortoise Shell. Finally, I have a pair of glasses that I won't be completely embarrassed to wear out on the town.

I would like to end this post with a huge CONGRATULATIONS to my Louisville Cardinals football team for defeating the University of Florida to win the Sugar Bowl.

Until next time,

Traveling, the Freedom Trail, and Louisville Basketball

Hello readers,

I am back from visiting my family in Louisville. I had such a good time!!

My Dad, sister Caroline, me, and my husband
It was snowing as I was boarding my plane (with a certain Kentucky United States Senator two rows in front of me) to Baltimore. Yesterday, my husband and I went to downtown Boston to finish the Freedom Trail that we had started, but not finished in September. Since I am an American History junkie, I couldn't wait to head over to the Paul Revere house.

It was snowing as we were leaving the Paul Revere House!!
The Paul Revere House is the remaining house in downtown Boston from the American Revolution era. I was astonished at how big the house was from the inside. Alas, I couldn't take pictures from the inside, but the museum house exhibited many of Paul Revere's personal items that I thought were pretty cool.

Since the University of Louisville played the University of Kentucky in basketball yesterday, my husband and I decided to find a bar off Quincy Market to watch the game. (We also enjoy the farmers market downtown.) On the way there, we stopped at Faneuil Hall, which was a sight.

Fun Fact: Sen. Kerry conceded from the 2004 Presidential Election here.
Faneuil Hall was a marketplace and meeting hall before the American Revolution where the whistlers of American independence started. Many prominent Revolutionaries, such as Samuel Adams, spoke there when it was used as a meeting hall until the British occupation of Boston during the War for Independence when the British converted it into a theater.

The husband and I watched my Louisville Cardinals defeat the Kentucky Wildcats off Quincy Market right before the snow headed in, but I woke up to snow in Marblehead before going to work this morning.

Until next time,

Merry Christmas!!

I'm sorry, my lovely readers!! The last two weeks have been incredibly busy. The hubby and I had company in town and have been getting to fly back to Louisville for the Holidays. We got in town on Friday and I immediately felt sick. (A sick baby was two rows in front of us.) I met up with some of my grade school friends, including my best friend from Insane Drivel, at my favorite Mexican Restaurant El Nopal. I got visit all my old coworkers at Blairwood on Saturday and even open the pool on Sunday. On Sunday afternoon, my Mom, husband, and I went up to Cincy to visit my sister and go outlet shopping to pick up any remaining gift, which also included my new Birthday Kate Spade purse.

The hubby and I visited with my family on Christmas Eve and morning. I had a very J.Crew and Madewell Christmas from my sister and parents. I was so excited to get the short J.Crew Booker boots (currently sold out) and the Madewell Sweatshirt Dress.

We did Christmas in halves and celebrated with my husband's family in the afternoon. I made out like a bandit there too. I have been wanting to get my own TRX for a while so I can do some workouts at home. I received some comfortable Tory Burch sneaker flats from Santa as well, but the one of the best gifts I received was the book Thomas Jefferson: The Art of Power. I can't wait to dive into this book!!

I hope everyone had an amazing holiday filled with love and joy!!

#workingonmyfitness

Hello my lovely readers,

Isn't there one part of the day that everyone looks forward to?? It could be reading a book, enjoying a cup of coffee or tea, or watching your favorite T.V. shows. My favorite part of the day is when I exercise. I try to do something active every single day whether it be as intense as a Spinning class or relaxing as yoga/Pilates. Today, my workout will start with Spinning. I looooooove Spinning. I began Spinning my junior year of high school and have been doing it at least four times a week since. I have recently become an instructor and recommend it for people who want a low impact form of cardio that will not put a lot of stress on the knees.

Feeling the burn after a great spin class...but this is bad posture on the bike.

The next part of my workout is weights. I tend to do upper body and lower body on separate days. In order  of keep my metabolism revved up, it's important for me to lift on a regular basis, but also, take rest days so my muscles can recover. My favorite workout clothes come from lululemon. Lululemon makes stylish workout clothes that accentuate one's figure instead of hiding in baggy sweatpants and shirts. Also, if a seam comes loose on the article of clothing or their pants need to be hemmed, lululemon will replace or hem free of charge.

My Favorite Workout Clothes from Lululemon

Tomorrow, I will be trying a Masters swim workout with my swimmer husband. I have been teaching swim lessons for years and am excited to try this new workout. I wish I had been a swimmer growing up, but I choose to play volleyball instead. What do you all like to do to workout and be active??
